About The Faculty
The Beginning...
The Faculty started back in 2004 with Marco and Adamo under a different name with two other undisclosed members in Woodbridge, Ontario. Playing covers from Pearl Jam’s Rearviewmirror and Incubus’ Warning, a taste for music had been developed. Some songs were scraped but others like Miranda Warning are still going strong. In 2006 The Faculty gained another guitar player and preformed their first show at their high school.
Parting Ways
Like all good things, this came to an end. Two members formed their own band while the other member went on his own way. The band consisted of Marco and Adamo and The Faculty was born. For a few years The Faculty worked on writing new songs such as Inches and The Rope and played acoustic sets with Fab helping out on guitar.
New Beginning
In the summer of 2009, The Faculty approached their good friend Alex to record their acoustic EP. With an interest in the music, Alex became the fourth member of the band and Fab began learning the drums. Gianfranco was thrown into the mix to slap the bass and The Faculty was truly born.
Memorable Gigs
A year was spent writing songs and playing show after show in Toronto and Barrie playing shows at Sound Academy, Hard Rock Café, The Reverb, El Mocambo, Lee’s Palace and much more. They have opened up for Lights, Kardinal Official and Mariana’s Trench and were involved in music festivals such as Canadian Music Week and Frosh Week.
What does the future has for The Faculty?
The Faculty will hopefully be making a huge internet appearance and catch the ears of many. Music videos and new tracks as well as appearances at North by Northeast (NXNE) will be something to look forward to and will this eventually lead to a Juno? Well we’ll just have to find out.
